Do you want to change how people work with tomorrow’s technology and machine learning? And be part of a team that develops next-generation process monitoring systems employing advanced machine learning methods?
IDLETECHS makes software to simplify and empower real-time monitoring of complex industrial processes. This is to enable users to optimize their processes and detect unwanted events. We do this through combining data-driven methods and the existing domain knowledge of the users. Rather than replacing operators, we want to make them better and more value for their employers.
IDLETECHS is looking for someone that wants to become a full-stack developer and work on our real-time analytics software for use in both industrial and aerospace sectors. We handle the entire chain - from edge computing, development of ML methods, to interactive web interfaces - providing a range of interesting challenges for a good programmer.
As part of a small team, you will play a key role in developing and testing Idletechs’ core technology. Your main responsibility will be the development of software for real-time data analytics. This includes both back-end (algorithms and business logic) and front-end (interactive web visualization). Our work is organized using Scrum, where you will face a wide range of programming tasks. We frequently work closely with customers and partners, so good communication and team skills are important.
IDLETECHS offers a social and active work environment as part of a cluster of tech start-ups, co-located in the same building. We arrange both technical and social events.
The position is full-time with 37.5h working hours per week, and you are expected to spend most of your time at our offices in Trondheim, where the core working hours are 9:00-15:00.
To qualify as an applicant for a position as a full-stack developer we require:
As one of our full-stack developers, you will work with a wide range of technologies together with skilled coworkers. You are not expected to yet possess all these skills but should be able to learn and master most of them with proper training.
As a person we are looking for you that are team-oriented, and that like to work closely with other colleagues and customers. As part of a small company, you will perform many different tasks, and should thus be flexible with regards to work content and role in the company, e.g. working a bit with data analytics. You should have good communication skills and be able to produce professional documentation and presentations. We are a knowledge-based company, so we expect that you also are interested in the research aspects of machine learning.
IDLETECHS AS is a start-up company connected to the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU) in Trondheim. We currently have 10 employees and are located at Pirsenteret at the harbor. The company is heavily knowledge-based with several PhDs and MSc within the organization. We have contracts with some of the major industrial players in Norway, including Kongsberg Maritime, Equinor, DNV-GL, Norsk Romsenter, and Alcoa.
IDLETECH'S approach is "Interpretable Machine Learning for Quantitative Big Data". We focus on how to exploit today's and tomorrow's overwhelming streams of well-structured, but high-dimensional technical measurements. We insist on keeping humans in the loop whenever possible, while also searching for unexpected data patterns not yet understood by the users. Moreover, established scientific knowledge - e.g. the law of physics - may be used for extending, stabilizing and speeding up the machine learning processes.
This recruitment is conducted by Academic Work, but you will be employed by IDLETECHS AS. Please do not hesitate to contact Mari at Academic Work if you have any questions regarding the position.
