TechnipFMC’s 2018 Summer Trainee Technology Program
Take part in developing next generation CNG (Compressed Natural Gas) and CO2 technology and make profitable a new business segment for the oil & gas industry.
The Summer Trainee Technology Program (STTP) is a self-governed project for students with a genuine interest in technology. TechnipFMC offers a unique experience in technology development working at the forefront of the oil & gas industry.
Who can apply?
Students enrolled in a Master Degree program, preferably within their 3rd, 4th or 5th year.
Apply If your discipline is within:
Systems engineering, process/petroleum engineering, materials engineering, mechanical engineering, 3D design and animation (visualisation), naval architecture, instrumentation/cybernetics and autonomy, project management, business development or media and communication.
With basis in the Technology Challenge “Next generation energy-efficient CNG and CO2 technology”, the students form, administrate and lead the engineering work under the supervision of TechnipFMC’s experienced mentors. The 10 week program will start June 11 and will allow the students to:
- Focus on relevant technology issues which are part of TechnipFMC’s future
- Practice real engineering in a creative environment
- Use their competence, network and creativity

Engineering lead, assistant project mgmt.
CO2 injection, CNG compression (1 person)
Process, compressor performance, fluid dynamics
Gas transport with tanks (2 persons)
Autonomous subsea transport, fluid dynamics, mechanical design
Controls Engineering (1 person)
Cybernetics, instruments, communication, simulation
Project Engineering (2 persons)
Mechanical design (3D), pressure vessel, animations
Materials Engineering (1 person)
Composites and metals for subsea oil & gas
Business Development (1 person)
Business model and economy
Project Management (1 person)
Plans, resources, processes, cooperation
Media and Communication (1 person)
Internal/ external media handling
Candidates are to submit an application letter stating why they are interested in the program and why they should be considered.
The project will take place at TechnipFMC in Kongsberg, Norway. All applicants must be able to attain working permit for Norway and find own accomodation.
